It would be pretty cool to be able to go to Calgary for the Tattoo Expo in September, and to get a tattoo from Kat Von D of Miami Ink.

If standard tattoo rates around Edmonton are $125 per hour, I wonder what hers are?

Tattoos on the chest hurt like a bastard.

Finally, after a couple of reasonably well-done fan-made fakes, the actual teaser for Spiderman 3.

Looks pretty neat, though I was hoping for more comic-like black-costume goodness.

I think we should have a Canada Day BBQ on Saturday, and then mosey over to the park for fireworks.

I just remembered a really stupid dream I had last night. I opened up a package (not sure if it was a gift or an envelope) and there was a DVD inside. It was a movie with John Travolta that I was extremely happy to be getting, as I'd always wanted it. Upon looking at the back of it, it wasn't the John Travolta movie after all, but a copy of Mariah Carey's "Glitter". I remember thinking something along the lines of "I hope I have the receipt for this, and that they'll take it back."

I have no idea where that one came from.

Yet another baby shower, this one from Allison's friend at her former workplace. Spoiled baby and lucky parents, to have such great friends. But the big news of the day is this...Smoochie.

Looks like a normal ol' black and white kitty, doesn't he? Well, have a gander at this...

Yes, he is THAT FREAKING HUGE! Our friends, the shower hosts, got him from the veterinarian's where he lived for nine months or so after being hit by a car and unclaimed. I imagine the damage to the car was worse than to Smoochie, like hitting a moose, or perhaps Rita McNeil, on the highway.

With my love for Mystery Science Theatre 3000 and toys, why did this never occur to me?

Holly on the day of the baby shower at MacEwan.

A too-cute demin dress, and Riley hanging out on her change table.

And, our beloved houseguests.

Especially for TBIT.

Wow, a week since I posted. Must have been busy.
Oilers lost, proud of them anyways.
Got Battlestar Galactica Season One for Father's Day, as well as taken out for lunch, and some cash for a tattoo.

Holly is getting gigantic..more photos coming soon.
Started walking to work, as weather permits. That is, walking when I can drag my ass out of bed to leave early enough. That's the hard part, making sure I'm ready to be out the door by 7:05 AM, instead of my usual 7:29 (to get to work at 7:30)
Taking an extra day before the Canada Day weekend, resulting in a 4 day weekend. I can't wait.
C&D have moved in with us for a few months as they get ready to move to Japan for a year or three. I love having them around, and I think they kind of like being here, especially to spend time with Holly before they go.
Oh yeah..Holly gets baptized this Sunday at Borden Park..10:30 AM, bbq to follow. That should be good, non-traditional fun.

I'm sure there is more I could be talking about, butnot much comes to mind. Have to remember to do short posts more often.

Is there something about orange cats and attitude?

Story here.

You can make the world a better place. Won't you please join the campaign to Make Bono History at EliminateBono.com?

The hard drive repair worked, thanks to the advice offered on this website and the availability of the identical 2 year-old drives on eBay at a surprisingly good price. Let the backing up of all my goodies begin.

Went out to Leduc on Saturday for my sister's 50th birthday party. Of the 6 of us, three have hit fifty. No, I am not one of them, wiseguys. I will be the LAST one, thank you very much.

My sister and her husband have one of Desdemona's kittens, Paulie Walnuts. In fact, Paulie was the one I had planned on keeping for myself, until they picked him, and I ended up with Sal, the spicy Italian Meatball.

Though, looking at him this weekend, I do think there is a bit of family resemblance.

My computer at home overheated and died, and the hard drive is dead. This is bad, as it has many digital photos on it that I had never backed up, among other things I'd like to have back.

In a search to see what I could do about it (my best bet is, and I will try when it arrives, swapping the circuit board with one from an identical HD), I came across this, which made me laugh.

How to fix a noisy hard drive.
