The latest pics of the kid.

What can adults do on a Halloween weekend (the 28th), with a baby in tow? Bars are out, no one is having parties, and the baby is too young for family type activities.

I have two costume ideas this year, and I want to use them somewhere besides work on the 31st, dammit!

Part II-
For Big Orange Cat
1. I'll respond with something random about you.
I'll never forget that you cried when you first laid eyes on Holly.

2. I'll challenge you to try something.
Work on Nathan to get him enthused about a Disney trip. Agree to go somewhere that he wants to go, that you don't, in exchange.

3. I'll pick a colour that I associate with you.
Orange.

4. I'll tell you something I like about you.
That you want to go to Disneyland with us someday!

5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you.
Easy, Allie and I coming to your house while Nathan was out of town, to take the feral kittens off your hands. You were alternately hyper, upset, crying, happy, in the space of 1 minute, and repeating the cycle.

6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
Otis.

7. I'll ask you something I've always wanted to ask you.
Was Django your first cat ever?

For C of C&D
1. I'll respond with something random about you.
Your old love of New Kids on the Block is even more hilarious now, knowing your adult taste in music.
2. I'll challenge you to try something.
Eat a vegetable with every meal.
3. I'll pick a colour that I associate with you.
Purple.
4. I'll tell you something I like about you.
Hard to pick...gotta be the laugh that can be heard from blocks away.
5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you.
That's a toughie when you've known someone their whole life. Playing with you when you were little..Concentration, your Fisher Price Sesame street toys, and the Ronald McDonald doll.
6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
A really cute laughing Hyena!
7. I'll ask you something I've always wanted to ask you.
When did you first get the idea to go teach in Japan?

I've answered the questions of those of you who have responded so far..here they are.

Update- YouTube link gone- try this one instead.

This is going to be the best movie in the history of movies.

After this, the world should just stop making movies. Why bother, after this? Shine up the Oscar NOW, dammit!!

In the word's of one of the YouTube comment-makers, "If you don't think this looks amazing, the terrorists have won. This movie will kill your mom."

Word.

Look at all that friggin' hair!

And...it moves!

Ignore the dorky voice in the background.

So, my old friend Brent, the Dork Lord, (who, incidentally, has his yearly Pure Speculation sci-fi con coming up during the Oct. 14 weekend...you should go, I plan to pop in and check it out), posted this on his blog:

If you reply to this post:

1. I'll respond with something random about you.
2. I'll challenge you to try something.
3. I'll pick a colour that I associate with you.
4. I'll tell you something I like about you.
5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you.
6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7. I'll ask you something I've always wanted to ask you.
8. If I do this for you, it would be appreciated if you posted this on yours.

I did reply, and this is what he had to say about me:
Brent said...

For Mano Ubergrande:

1) I can't believe you are a dad! And yet, I can totally see you being good at it.
2) Get back into making movies, man! I know you loved it.
3) Gold.
4) Even though we haven't seen each other in, like, forever, you still talk to as if we had chatted just the other day.
5) Seeing you behind the counter of the comic shop in Fort Mac, and thinking I'd kill to have that job!
6) An orange tabby.
7) I never asked you, why did you give up the shop in Fort Mac?

So, whoever is out there, if you want my repsonses regarding you, reply to this post and say so.

And Dork Lord, in response to #7: the shop paid next to nothing, the owners complete neglect of me up there was resulting in the shop going to hell (to the point where they were not paying the phone bill, etc), stock was being depleted and never replenished, I was getting embarrassed at the state of things..I was starting to think about going back to school, I was lonely up in the Fort (though I had family up there, I was too shy to really be making friends)..all things pointed to getting outta there while I had the chance.

The plus side of that was, my departure started a mass exodus of people from Fort McMurray to Edmonton, including my family and several ex-customers of the comic shop.

I always find it odd that I got to know you guys AFTER I left McMurray. Would I have been happier while I was there if we'd all become friends while i was there? Most definitely, but it also wouldn't have ended the store neglect that made me have to go. So it all worked out in the end.

Happy Shchanksgiving, folks.

Geez, all Amazon.ca has are books, cd's and dvd's. I actually thought this was a gag e-mail when I received it. Who knows, maybe I will get a craving for microwave popcorn or cereal in four-to-six weeks, and if I order it now, it should arrive just in time.

C&D, would this make you happy until Holly grows her own? (and it's coming..we can actually see it without a magnifying glass now!)

And, here's one just because the word "celebutard" makes me chuckle.

I wish I could find one of these locally. yes, I could order one, but I want to hold it in my hands before I buy it, to make sure it's not too cheap, actually looks decent, etc.

There aren't many things I wouldn't order online, but this is one of them.

Getting ready for Halloween.

The latest pic.

I bought twelve styrofoam wig heads.

Desdemona likes the new cat bed (which doubles as a baby highchair)

Sleepin'.

Remember Napoleon, the old blind kitty? His eyes have been problematic since he went to live with my brother and his wife..they had to be removed. It looks heartbreaking, but you wouldn't believe how this eyeless cat gets around. Sixth sense, indeed.

That, and whiskers.
