Does anyone know anyone that wants a puppy or a kitten? I know people that have one of each..the kitten is 4 months old, found as a stray..very light orange and white, like our Riley but much lighter orange. The puppy is a few months old, adopted by friends of a friend, but they discovered they are allergic. It is a cross, likely Collie/American Eskimo..very cute.

Drop me a note if you know of anyone...

Watched Ultimate Avengers last night. The criticisms are well-enough founded, but I enjoyed it for what it was. It wasn't the Ultimates, but if you want the book verbatim, re-read the book.

I was hoping for something a little deeper than just dumbing it down into a standard cartoon storyline, and it almost got there.

It was a little too adult in theme to be called a movie for kids, but too "kids" to really appeal to those who liked the books. The way they used the Hulk really worked for me..the story of it, and the battle, pushed me over from "eeh, it was OK" to "That was good." I was hoping for , "That was Frickin' AWESOME!", but hey, don't we hope that for everything?

Maybe that will be the basis for a new movie review system.

Another weekend over..another week closer to the impending arrival of little Miss Holly. We added a couple more things to our every-growing collection of baby stuff that is beginning to fill up every available corner of the house. This time, it's the stroller and a play-pen.

The little girl is beating the hell out of her mom these days. I've been told by a friend that the home stretch, these last two months, are the worst, and I'm begining to believe him. She wants Holly to be born as soon as she can. In optimum health, o course, but as quickly as possible.

I'm totally terrified, of course, but really excited. I am going to be someone's dad, for Chrissakes!

Who knew Chuck Norris was so accomplished?

Well, everyone on the internet but me, until today.

Zombithon, although more of a zombie double-feature, was fun. Missing were Dave and Eric, absent for various reasons, making me think I should do it again, sooner rather than later. The two movies we did make it through were Cemetery Man and Wild Zero.

Wild Zero was cheesy zombie fun, not a great movie by any stretch, but goofy fun.

Cemetery Man bit the big one. How this film made various "Top Ten Zombie Movies" lists is beyond me. Started out promising, but apart from having zombies in it, it isn't really a zombie movie. I was wishing it would end about an hour in.

I've got to get writing my own zombie movies..at last count I have about six different ideas to try and expand into full stories.

I'm glad I don't have to go to work Monday...I love long weekends.

Saw Brokeback Mountain tonight..good film. I was really impressed with Heath Ledger's performance..I always had him pegged as a dim-witted skin puppet, but he proved he's an honest-to-goodness actor, and I think he deserves every award and nomination he gets for this role.

Also seeing the film makes me want to fast-forward to summer, when we hope to spend a bit of time in the mountains. Without the gay sex, of course.

I popped in the DVD of Wild Zero last night, just to get a feel for if it really deserves to be on the various Top Ten Zombie Movie lists that I found it on...and found that it has a drinking game, helpfully assisted by one of the DVD features.

from this site:
"The movie can also be watched as a drinking game. A beer mug will appear on the corner of the screen every time a zombie gets their head blown off, someone combs their hair, someone says rock-n-roll, or fire shoots out of something."

I wasn't officially counting, but in the trailer alone, it would have been at least 12 drinks.

Zombithon is gonna rock. Or even better, ROCK-N-ROLL!!! I'd comb my hair in an extremely cool manner, except it's too short.

On tap for Zombithon, a night of zombie movie madness at our place this Saturday:
Dead Alive
Wild Zero
Cemetery Man
Undead
Enter Zombie King

I doubt we'll get through them all..that's like 10 hours of zombie movies.

Anybody I forgot to send the e-mail to, feel free to come on by..if you know where we live.

There will be chick flicks and light comedies showing in the living room for the faint of heart, if zombies aren't your thing.

Come one, come all.
Grr. Arrgh.

So, Sonny Bono and his mates won another popularity contest. Eric, tape down your nipples, you're going to put somebody's eye out with those things.

With that, I give you this, this, and lastly, this.

Aaaaaahhhhhhhhh..........that felt good.

Well, this is it..in just over an hour, I will be losing my hair. I can't believe I agreed to this. Oh well, it's for a good cause, and I have so far raised $440 for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Pictures to follow....

Be afraid...I am shaving my head for cancer. Details here.

Next Tueday at about 12:45 PM, I will be able to pull my shirt collar up to my eyebrows and do an impression of a roll-on deodorant.
